A Samsung dryer that tumbles but stays cold has lost the heat circuit, not the motor circuit, which is why everything else still seems normal. On electric models the most common causes are a burned-out heating element, a blown thermal fuse or high-limit cutout triggered by restricted airflow, or one lost leg of the 240-volt supply.

Safe to do yourself. Unplug the appliance before you start.
- Confirm the cycle actually calls for heat
Air Fluff, Air Dry and some delicate or time-dry settings tumble without heat. If someone else in the house ran a load, reselect a normal cycle with a medium or high temperature and run a short test load. This is a quick check and it does solve a fair number of cold-dryer calls.
- Check both halves of the breaker
An electric dryer uses 240 volts made from two 120-volt legs. If one leg drops out, the drum and controls still run on 120 volts but the heating element gets nothing. Switch the dryer breaker fully off and back on, and if the dryer still tumbles cold, have the outlet voltage tested.
- Clean the lint filter and clear the vent
Pull the lint screen and clean it, then disconnect and inspect the flexible duct and the outside hood for packed lint, crushed sections or a stuck flapper. Blocked airflow both slows drying and trips the safety cutouts that kill the heat. Clearing a real blockage often restores normal operation, and it is the single most effective thing you can do to keep a new fuse or element from failing again.
- Do not overload the drum
A packed drum blocks air movement, so clothes come out damp even when the heater is fine. Run a small test load and see if it dries and feels warm.
- Empty the water tank on condenser and heat pump models
Ventless Samsung dryers stop heating properly when the condenser water tank is full or the heat exchanger is clogged. Empty the tank and clean the exchanger if the display prompts you to.
- Reset the dryer last, not first
Unplug the dryer or cut the breaker for one to five minutes, then restore power. Do this only after the checks above, because resetting wipes stored error codes that help a technician diagnose the fault. If a code comes right back, leave it alone and book service.
- Check the gas supply on gas models
If you have a gas Samsung dryer, make sure the gas shutoff valve behind the machine is open and other gas appliances in the house are working. Igniter and gas valve coil faults need a technician.

Common questions
Will resetting my Samsung dryer fix the no-heat problem?
Rarely. A reset clears electronic glitches and stored error codes, but it will not clear a blocked vent, a blown fuse or a failed element. Try the physical checks first, and if a code returns after a reset, stop and have it diagnosed.
Why does the dryer still run if the heating element is dead?
The motor, drum light and controls run on 120 volts, while the heating element needs the full 240 volts. So the machine can look completely normal and still produce no heat at all.
Is a Samsung heating element something I can replace myself?
It is a common DIY job on electric models, but it means unplugging the dryer, removing the top and front panels and the drum, and testing parts with a multimeter. If you are not comfortable working around a 240-volt circuit, have a local repair company handle it.
My dryer heats but clothes are still damp. Same problem?
Usually not. Weak drying with some warmth points more often to restricted airflow, a clogged vent run or a moisture sensor issue than to a dead heating element.
