- Confirm the cycle actually uses heat

- Reset both breakers
An electric dryer runs on two 240V legs. If only one leg trips, the drum spins and the lights work but the heater gets nothing. Go to the panel, flip the dryer breaker fully off, then fully back on, and try again.
- Clean the lint filter and the filter slot
Pull the screen and clear it, then wash it in warm water with a little dish soap if softener residue has left a film. Vacuum inside the housing below the screen, where lint collects out of sight. Restricted airflow makes the dryer overheat and trip its safety devices.
- Check the vent hose and outside exhaust
Pull the dryer out and look for a crushed, kinked, or lint packed hose, and make sure it is rigid or semi rigid metal rather than a long flexible run. With the dryer running, go outside and feel for strong airflow at the vent hood and confirm the flapper opens. Weak airflow means the duct needs cleaning.
- Look for a thermal fuse reset button
On many LG models the thermal fuse sits on the blower housing behind the rear exhaust connection, and some versions have a small reset button. Unplug the dryer first. If pressing it clicks and heat returns, treat that as a warning: clean the whole vent run, and if it trips again the fuse is weak and needs replacing.
